WILD & SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL ON TOUR
Rivers are Life had three films–Toxic Art, Chasing the Bono, and Study Aboard, on the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour in 2024. In total the films raised $1,000 for the South Yuba River Citizens League as well as helped tour locations raise funds locally. The Rivers are Life film selection highlighted the range of river stories being lifted up for education and awareness. Introducing concepts such as alternative spring break river cleanups, turning river mining sludge into usable paint pigments, and surfing a longest river wave in the world.
ABOUT WILD & SCENIC FILM FESTIVAL - ON TOUR
Started in 2005 after the flagship Wild & Scenic Film Festival weekend ended, festival films hit the road as an On Tour program. This traveling tour brings the inspiration of Wild & Scenic films to communities all over the country. With 100+ Wild & Scenic events a year their programming now reaches over 30,000 people annually via partnering with land trusts, waterkeepers, schools, and other NGOs. In 2023 WSFF helped host organizations raise over $800,000 for their organizations and communities!
Hosting sites use traveling festival to raise funds, increase membership, create new contacts, and act as a community building fun time watching great films. The Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour is a proven impactful event that organizations and attendees look forward to year after year.
