MAINTAINING A CLEAN CEDAR RIVER

The Rivers are Life team jumped in kayaks for the second year in a row to volunteer at the 11th annual Cedar River Cleanup with Little Forks Conservancy and the Gladwin Conservation District. A 4.5 mile paddle from Chappel Dam Road to Gladwin City Park with the objective to monitor the cleanliness of the Cedar River and pickup any trash.

It is with great happiness the teams can report only 75 lbs of trash picked up throughout the paddle. This shows consistency and education are making a difference on the Cedar River.

Staff from Little Forks Conservancy and the Gladwin Conservation District will now begin looking for the next section of the Cedar River for the campaign to start cleaning.
