CLEANING THE RIVER FROM A KAYAK
The Rivers are Life team jumped in kayaks to volunteer at the 10th annual Cedar River Cleanup with Little Forks Conservancy. Throughout the day we and 11 other paddlers helped to remove 190 pounds of trash, including a picnic table from the Cedar River!
While cleaning a river from a kayak can be tricky at times, we were excited to see just how clean this stretch of the river has become. Past participants commented that next year we will have to move to a new section of the river, as this one was looking great.
A TEAM EFFORT
This section of the river remains clean thanks to the continuous efforts and awareness that the community puts forth. It is safe to say that all jobs are easier when you are working with friends. Thank you to all the groups that helped to make this event happen:
